What's the difference between the grades?
Think of it as how the leaf is grown and ground. Everyday Blend is made to shine with milk. Ceremonial grades (Organic, Single Origin, Premium) come from younger, shade-grown first-harvest leaves, stone-ground finer — smoother and sweeter, lovely straight with just water.
How much caffeine does matcha have?
A serve has noticeably less caffeine than a typical coffee — and it's paired naturally with L-theanine, which most people experience as calmer, steadier focus rather than a spike and crash. Prefer low-caffeine? Try Hojicha for evenings.
How many serves are in a tin?
A traditional serve uses about 1.5–2g. A 70g tin makes roughly 35–45 bowls or lattes; a 30g tin about 15–20 — a daily ritual for weeks, not days.
How should I store it?
Airtight, away from light, heat and strong smells. After opening, keep the lid tight (the fridge is great) and enjoy it within a couple of months — matcha is a fresh product, and its vibrant colour is the proof.
Do I need special tools to make it?
A bamboo whisk (chasen) makes the classic creamy froth, and a sifter keeps it lump-free — see our Tools & Accessories. In a pinch, a small electric frother works for lattes.
