The best. Most relaxing experience ever! The music made me feel like I'm on the set of Bridgerton (which i love!). Match was delicious too. I'm definitely gonna look out for more sessions like this. I highly recommend.

It is such a relaxing and creative activity. I loved being able to design my own matcha bowl. Everything was well organised and the quality of the Matcha is amazing. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone looking for a creative and enjoyable experience.

A lovely and relaxing experience! The matcha workshop was interesting and well presented, and painting our own cups made it even more special. The host Dönay was friendly and we left with great memories and a beautiful handmade souvenir. Highly recommend!

If you’ve had matcha in Japan, you’ll know how hard it is to find the same quality here. This is the only one in Australia that genuinely tastes authentic.

A slower kind of afternoon
Why a workshop

A slower kind of afternoon

Matcha is a ritual, and rituals are easier to learn with someone next to you. You whisk your own latte, then spend the rest of the session painting a piece you will actually use at home.

  • —No screens, no rush — just a bowl, a brush and two hours.
  • —You leave with something you made, not just a photo of it.

Meet Dönay & Mete — the couple behind NOA Matcha 🍵

She's a food engineer & meditation instructor. He's a mechatronics engineer. Together, they've spent 6+ years running workshops and traveling the world — and found their calm in Bali, training in yoga and meditation.

Their idea? Blend the soothing ritual of ceremonial matcha with the mindful joy of ceramic painting — and turn it into a 2-hour experience that helps people slow down and create something beautiful.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I need any experience?

None at all. Both the matcha and the painting are guided step by step, and most people in the room are doing it for the first time.

How long is the workshop?

About two hours from start to finish.

What is included in the price?

Your matcha latte, a ceramic mug or matcha bowl, all painting materials, step-by-step guidance, and the finished piece to take home.

What will I paint?

A ceramic mug or a matcha bowl. You choose which one on the day.

Can I book more than one seat?

Yes. Set the number of people in the buy box above and book them together in one order.

Can you host a private group?

Yes. Corporate days, hens, birthdays and family celebrations are booked through our group events pages rather than here.

Is there caffeine in the matcha?

Yes. Matcha contains roughly 25–30 mg of caffeine per gram, so a standard serve is around half a flat white. Tell us on the day if you would rather skip it.

Can I change my session?

Yes. You can move to another session free of charge up to 7 days before the date you booked — email hello@noamatcha.com with your order number and we will move you across. If you need to cancel, that can be done for a full refund within 48 hours of paying; after that the seat is non-refundable.
